CREON Energy has the pleasure of inviting you to «Russian Cryogenic Technologies: Facts and Prospects 2018»
Date: May 24, 2018
Venue: Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow
The Western sanctions imposed against Russia in 2014 had political background, but a very clear economic goal: to limit Russia’s access to advanced foreign research and technologies. Unfortunately, the goal has been achieved: many industries of the national economy are not capable of having their development based on the local potential only. Such a situation is true for the Russian cryogenic industry, as it is forced to survive on its own. Without any doubt, local R&D projects do exist, but there is a lot they are lacking to promote further development.
The optimal path to tackle the situation is to rejuvenate the Russian science and to stimulate local research. The question is whether Russian science and engineering are ready to take the challenge, and what their timeline could be. The challenge is to develop technologies similar to those available internationally, and with comparable efficiency. Is this possible at all?
In this regard, the role of the government is extremely important: it ought to become the initiator of development in the cryogenic industry. It is unclear now, which public institution will be responsible for the process. However, it is obvious that the efforts of commercial companies are not enough to get the ball rolling.
Currently there are several leaders in Russia’s cryogenics who have announced serious projects, particularly in liquefaction of natural gas. Whether these plans will be implemented on schedule or not, is still a question. The Russian companies remain unwilling to interact locally: instead of applying joint efforts, they are competing with each other.
The Conference is held with participation of the leading international and Russian producers of cryogenic equipment, oil and gas companies, representatives of public authorities, and the industry experts. We will be delighted to welcome all the interested market players!
